What does red lipstick mean?

Red Lipstick can mean many things, from classic reds to sultry reds they can all look and mean different things when you wear them. For example, wearing red lipstick can symbolise a bold statement, it draws attention to the lip. This can be worn in different ways depending on the effect you want...

If your looking for that classic bold red I would highly suggest our MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick paired with MAC Ruby Woo Lip Pencil. Apply the Lip Pencil to the outline of the lips to create a crisp, balanced lip before applying Ruby Woo to the rest of the lip.

However maybe your looking for something a bit softer but still red in colour, which is easily done by just a change in lipstick formula! For this I would suggest our MAC Cockney Lipstick which is in our Lustre category this provides lightweight, sheer to medium colour pay-off with a semi-gloss finish. Not only is this lipstick gorgeous on but it also has several softening and conditioning properties to it. Pair this with our MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. Apply this to the whole lip area before applying the lipstick to allow the lipstick to adhere better to the lip.

PRO TIP:
To ensure your red lipstick look stays put all day pair it with our MAC Prep and Prime lip, this allows the appearance of lipsticks to look enhanced. Our lip primer also conditions and smoothes the lips when applied and will resist any lipstick and lip pencil from feathering.
