APRICOT MAKEUP IS THE COLOUR
TREND OF THE YEAR
February 6, 2024 by Cat Quinn
If pink and strawberry makeup dominated the last year, the next 12 months will be defined by warm apricot and peach tones. Inspired by the colours of the year, Apricot Crush and Peach Fuzz, expect to see lots of glowing orange blush, peachy lipstick shades and sunset-inspired eyeshadow hues this spring and summer.
“Apricot is showing up in beauty as a new take on warmth,” says Terry Barber, M·A·C Creative Director of Makeup Artistry. “It’s an upbeat, modern version of using bronzer.”
When it comes to beauty, these bleached apricot and peachy pastels take direct inspiration from 70s neutral makeup looks. “It feels like a new 70s face — sun-kissed with that little extra pop of apricot on the centre of the cheeks and a juicy stained lip,” says Barber. “It’s a hugely flattering tone for makeup that’s associated with health, wellbeing and playfulness.”
