What glitter is used in Lipgloss?
Mica is the glitter that is used in a lot of our products. It gives our Lipglass, Cremesheen, Power Pumping and Grand Illusion lip glosses, that beautiful pearlescent high shine and shimmer. Mica pigments are natural occurring minerals (purified and crushed) which range from completely matte to opalescent or sparkling. They are also frquently used to colour lip balm, lipstick and mineral makeup and well as lipgloss, and are hugely popular in lip balm usage as most do not morph or bleed. The reflects pigments that are the same as our glitters, provides intense sparkle and adds depth and dimension to the lips.
You can of course create your own glitter lipgloss if you desire by mixing our Lipglass Clear with a pigment or glitter colour of your choice. Lipglass Clear is a unique lip gloss that can create a glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. It's designed to be worn on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick and it's the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It contains jojoba oil to help soften and condition the lips, and a tiny bead of this highly concentrated product is all that's needed to cover the lip area.
PRO TIP: Clear Lipglass can be applied anywhere on the body except for the eye area to create interesting effects. Try mixing it with our Cosmetic Glitter in Heliotrope to create high-level glitter and sparkle effects on all areas of the face and skin. If you're looking for a more highly concentrated colour to mix with your gloss, try our pigments. They are a loose colour powder with which you can create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect and are super easy to blend. Our frosted pigments like Pink Pearl also contain Mica for a beautiful metallic sheen.
